Teacher: Sumra Khan

As part of our Goodies and Baddies topic, we made a visit to the Tower of London and took part in a storytelling session. The cold, damp cellars gave us an idea of how it must have felt when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament.

We took part in a story telling session with a wonderful parent volunteer which helped bring the story of Jack and the Beanstalk alive for us! We helped Jack climb all the way to the top of the beanstalk and used our teamwork skills to help him get all the way down quickly without falling off!

Chiffchaff class has been fantastic at keeping up their attendance as they understand that coming to school everyday keeps them on top of their learning.

We enjoyed learning about the body. In art, we looked at body parts and used a variety of colours to create a body collage (examples below). Go here to see how we also explored how we can convey mood in portraits through colour choices.

We visited the Science Museum to support our 'Body' topic and looked at how the brain works. Playing games and following patterns helped us understand some ways in which our body helps us.

We performed our version of the book Funnybones  after reading the book. We do hope parents weren`t too scared! Pictures from our class assembly here.

In maths we have been taking our learning outside and using our outside area to help us with number bonds and partitioning.
